GINNIE SPRINGS
Tall trees (some over 500 years old) provide plenty of shade throughout the property. They provide a beautiful setting for camping, hiking or just plain relaxing. As much as possible, Ginnie Springs Outdoors has left the grounds exactly as they were when the native Timouquan and other tribes used the area for hunting, fishing and extracting flint from the Santa Fe River; leaving the trees, water and animal life much as they appeared to the first European explorers in the early 1500s.
Wilderness sites are scattered throughout our 200 wooded acres and include many river-front and spring sites. Most sites have a grill and a picnic table (more info on camping). Running water available on some sites.
Ginnie Springs has often been called “the world’s favorite freshwater dive.” It’s no exaggeration. Over the years, thousands of divers from around the world have marveled at Ginnie Springs’ crystal-clear water and startling natural beauty. Jacques Cousteau, in fact, characterized Ginnie Spring as “visibility forever.”
Certified scuba divers who are first-time visitors to Ginnie Springs will want to use at least two tanks to visit the four dive-able springs on Ginnie’s property: one at Ginnie Spring and one at the Devil Spring system. Depending on the time of year, you may even want to use a third tank to drift dive the Santa Fe River.
Come enjoy Ginnie Springs this Winter. Enjoy the seven crystal-clear, freshwater springs nestled in over 200 wooded acres along the banks of the Santa Fe River in Florida.
